Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the altar, chancel area and sanctuary for our worship services.

Choir and Hand-Bells-  meet each Wednesday, September through May.

  • Hand-Bell Choir meets at 6:00 p.m.
  • Chancel Choir meets at 7:00 p.m.

Congregational Life is responsible for congregational events, dinners, and welcome events.

Deacons are responsible for ushers duties during worship.

Education promotes education for all ages.

Elders are responsible for member visitation and assistance with funerals.

Evangelism is responsible for new member orientation and assimilation and outreach to visitors.

Friendly Service prepares and serves food and refreshments in connection with our funerals.

Good Cheer assists with the visitation of the ill and shut-in members of the church in their homes, hospitals and nursing homes.

Heritage Day organizes and plans for our Annual Heritage Day Celebration.

Home Communion is responsible for distribution of Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend regular church services because of sickness or being home-bound.

Quilters make quilts, health kits, school kits and sewing kits for Lutheran World Relief.

Social Concerns is responsible for community outreach.

Stewardship is responsible for finances and fund drives.

Trustees are responsible for repair and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.

Women of the Church - This organization consists of all women members of First English Lutheran Church who are committed to grow in faith, affirm their gifts, support one another in their callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, society and the world. You are warmly invited and encouraged to attend one of the following circle groups.

  • Rachel Circle meets the 2nd Monday of the month in members' homes beginning at 6:30 p.m.

  • Lydia Circle meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the church conference room beginning at 2:00 p.m.

  • Esther Circle meets  the 2nd Thursday of the month at the church office conference room beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Worship is responsible for our worship services. We invite lay participation as Assisting Ministers, Lay Readers, Communion Assistants, Greeters, and PowerPoint operators. Youth may serve as Acolytes.

Youth provides oversight of all youth groups and activities.
